December. Splashes of color of red and green. December. Decorations with lights and trees. The gray skies, the cold pushing us inside to warm by the fire. December. The snow is falling gently outside. December. Casting a blanket of powdery white. We throw on the scarf, the boots, the coat to stamp an angel in the snow. December. These scenes are a taste of the season’s joy. Oh – Oh. Or is there something more? December. The family’s piling in the car. December. They’re willing to travel both near and far to celebrate, to play, and make memories that last for a lifetime. December. Gifts are flooding below the tree. December. We are waiting impatiently and hoping what is hidden inside these gifts will quench our hearts’ desires. These scenes are a taste of the season’s joy. Oh – Oh. Or is there something more? It’s Christmas. A baby in a manger lay. It’s Christmas. When angels sang and shepherds came “Glory to God in the highest the Savior has been born this day!” This scene is the reason for Christmas joy. Oh – Oh. And there’s so much more
Turn it up. Play it loud. We’ve got a word we want to share with you. Maybe it’s something you’ve heard a time or two, we’re praying it hits you new. He bled for you. He bled for me. Oh how He wants us all to see you can’t escape the love He’s freely given us. He bled for you. Because His Word has changed our lives, we want you to know this profound truth that Jesus came to the earth for you. Please believe this Word too.
I remember, remember, I remember all that You have done for me. I remember, remember, I remember all that You have done for me.
You have forgiven all of my sin and heal all of my disease. You redeemed my life from the pit and crown me with Your great love. I remember, remember, I remember all that You have done for me. You made known Your ways to Moses and still speak to me today. You are gracious to Your people. Forever is Your favor. I remember, remember, I remember all that You have done for me.
We’re standing united, together as one, resisting all evil, firm in our faith. The enemy’s defeated. The battle is won. Gratefully praising King Jesus, God’s Son. No greater battle has ever been won. No greater victory has ever been won! Victory has come! Death, O Death, where now is your sting? Victory has come! Slaves to sin now have been set free. Victory has, Victory has come! Praise you, Lord, for sending Your Son!
The radiance of His glory. The image of His nature. Your powerful word sustains the whole world. You purified the sinner. You sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven above. You are the promised One! By faith we will today. By faith we will face tomorrow. No shrinking back or wavering because You’re the Son of God, You are the King! This world is temporary. You’ve prepared the perfect sanctuary where we’ll worship You throughout eternity.
Take This Yoke
My flesh is crying out. It yearns to have its own way. Fighting against it all alone is too much for me to stay sane. Ever since that first sweet taste, it is a daily struggle. Why won’t you flee from me and not leave me broken and ashamed? So Lord, won’t You take this yoke from me. It’s weighing me down. Send rest for my soul for Your burden is light. All you desire from me is to take that first step. From the boat into the water and trust in You for the rest. But my faith is so fleeting. It fails to keep me afloat. Praise you, Lord, for your grace because Your hand is my only hope. So won’t You take this yoke from me. It’s weighing me down. Send rest for my soul for Your burden is light. Bring me into Your presence to learn more of You. Taking Your yoke now is what I must do.
Doubt and fear coming too close and near, tripping up my steps of faith. Satan prowls like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. I will put my trust in God. There is rest for the weary. There is peace for the worried. There is hope for tomorrow. There is joy in the sorrow. Fire and trial come to assess my faith, fully proving where it lies. Just as gold drenched by the blazing flames, so I will be purified. But my joy remains the same. I will lift my voice to you, my God, the One who gives me strength.
God is creator. His works testify, giving us no reason for our disbelief. Carried away with the passions of our flesh. We’re still drawn to the false teachings of man. We’ll bow at His feet, all nations, and be held accountable for whom we’ve believed. Our lives laid bare, before Judge and King, eternal life or hell His judgment bring. So we sing, Today when we hear His voice, we will not harden our hearts. Today when we hear His voice, we will not harden our hearts. We are all amazed how He forgives a murderer, neglecting the speck that’s within our eyes. Because He sent His Son, for our sin His blood was spilled.
